Role: Junior Design Engineer
Salary & Hours: £22 - 27k/year + expenses, 37.5hrs hours / week
Benefits: Flexible working hours, pension contributions, 20 days leave plus bank holiday
Location: Work from home(preferably South-West England but not essential)
Placement: Flexible opportunity - fulltime employment or 12-month internship

Description: Willett Food Projects Limited (WFPL) are a design and engineering consultancy company working exclusively in the food production industry. We are looking for a junior design engineer to join our small, dynamic team working across the UK designing facilities ranging from start-up companies taking new products to market, to high-volume facilities for the country’s largest manufacturers.
WFPL employ personnel across the country and do not operate a common office. Staff are required to access an appropriate workspace and undertake travel on behalf of the business. The frequency of travel is purely project dependent, typically weekly site meetings and a few nights away per month.

The successful candidate will work with our team assisting project engineers to:
-Liaise with food manufacturing enterprises to develop project feasibility studies.
-Develop project concepts.
-Undertake site surveys to create existing layouts in CAD.
-Develop site capacity plans.
-Develop site production flows (similar to HACCP).
-Produce contractor specific drawings and packages and manage drawing updates.
-Represent the business in professional settings.
Essential Skills
-Operates with energy and enthusiasm.
-A strong engineering foundation.
-2D AutoCAD proficient
-A functional understanding of how food safety impacts food manufacture.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills.
-Ability to work independently from home or a shared workspace near home.
-Motivated, creative and conscientious.
-Capacity to travel.
-Have a passion for the food manufacturing industry.
Favourable Skills
-Understand food manufacturing practices and production methods
-CDM 2015 understanding – how the legislation impact design and construction phase.
-3D design/ BIM knowledge.
-Undertaken food technical qualification such as HACCP level 2 or 3.
-Architectural/design experience.
-Food production experience
